Colibri Solutions is Running for ALS

Colibri Solutions' Managing Principal James Wesolowski and Director of Business Development Karen Seiger have been training for months for two upcoming races, the Paris Marathon in April and the Brooklyn Half Marathon in May.

But we want this experience to be about more than running.

Our friend Sarah Coglianese was diagnosed with ALS in 2012. We first met her and her husband Rob at Chelsea Piers gym in New York City. We did Pilates class together, and then we'd go for sushi and sake at our favorite place in the neighborhood. They are the nicest people, and we loved seeing them them regularly. Then Sarah and Rob moved across the country, but we stayed in touch via Facebook. That is how we learned about Sarah's diagnosis.

We have watched Sarah and her family be there for each other, fight bravely and fiercely, and still find time to laugh together and enjoy their lives. And we have watched Sarah become a leader in raising awareness about ALS and the serious lack of research funding for a cure. Her organization, Speed4Sarah.com is a platform for people to share their stories about living with this disease.

So we want our races to be about raising funds for ALS research. Sarah suggested that our efforts go to supporting the ALS Therapy Development Institute, and that's just what we are doing.

So we are asking all Colibri Solutions friends, clients, and colleagues to donate, share the link, or just keep Sarah and her family in your thoughts. It all matters. To quote Sarah, "ALS is not an incurable disease. It is an underfunded one."
